Non-Surgical Decompression After a Car Accident
A collision can push a disc out of place or pinch a nerve, causing pain that runs down an arm or leg. When your exam points there, we add Back On Trac for the lower back or Cervi-Trac for the neck to gently take pressure off the disc and nerve.
Decompression is often a fit after a wreck for:

"I've been coming to Abide since 2018. I had a neck injury that wouldn't allow me to turn to the left or right. I couldn't sleep on a pillow and had to sleep on a cold gel pack in order to fall asleep. Today I have full range of motion in my neck. Also I sleep on a pillow now and no longer need a cold gel pack to fall asleep. Dr. Watkins was absolutely a God send. I can't sing his praises loud enough. Can a chiropractor help after a car accident?
Yes. Whiplash, neck and back pain, and headaches are some of the most common injuries we see after a wreck. We start with a thorough exam and X-rays, then build a care plan around what we find. If your injuries need care we don't provide, we'll tell you and point you in the right direction.
How soon after the accident should I come in?
As soon as you can. Getting evaluated early gives your recovery a head start. If it's been a while since your accident, it's not too late to come in.
Is it safe to be adjusted after a car accident?
Yes, and we're careful with a body that's just been through a jolt. We choose the technique for your injuries and comfort, including a gentle, low-force instrument adjustment, and we don't adjust anything until we've examined you and explained what we found.
When should I go to the ER first?
If you hit your head or lost consciousness, or you have severe pain, numbness, weakness, or think something may be broken, go to the ER right away. Come see us once you've been checked out.
Will my auto insurance cover my care?
In most cases, yes. We accept auto insurance and bill it for you, and we'll go over anything that isn't covered before you start.
Do I need a lawyer?
No, you don't need an attorney to start care with us. That's your decision, and either way, we'll take care of you.
